Wow! It's Darling's birthday today. And we're just back from a 2-day celebration at M Hotel off Anson Road.

A quick recap of what we did.

3 June 2007 10am: We went to Yan Palace off Chinatown for a sumptuous Dim Sum Breakfast. It's the first time Darling ent there and it's my second. My colleagues introduced me to the place and they serve really fresh and special Dim Sum. Some of the marvellous food include: Century Egg & Pork Porridge; Deep Fried Almond Balls with Mango, Deep Fried Yam Ball with Lychee, Deep Fried Banana Fritters with Prawn Roll, the authentic Siew Mai and Chee Cheong Fan. Also, something worth mentioning is the Paper Wrapped Chicken. Hmm, overall, all the prawns are so fresh that we really had a full tummy.

2pm: Checked into M Hotel. As I wasnt feeling too well, we slept all the way till 7+. Waking up, went to Boat Quay's South Bank for dinner. This is another place I usually dine during lunch time. It serves Thai-Chinese food which is really yumy and it is like tze char style. The set meal goes like this: If there are 4 people, you get to order 5 dishes and free flow of white or pineapple rice. Each person only pays about $12 - $15. However, to our disappointment last night, the set meal is only available from Mon - Fri and at lunch time only. How sad... and we left the place, walking towards the usual tze char stall we frequent. Had another sumptuous dinner there.

After dinner: KTV! KTV! OMG! I just so miss KTV, how long haven't I been there. Sang my hearts out. Totally relieved all stress. Darling sure too enjoyed himself. Returned to the hotel at mid night 1am.

4 June 07 10am: Headed towards Maybank to have our joint account opened. Many purposes for this joint account. Marriage, Flat, if we can't get the flat we want, probably renovate his current room so that there is finally something that belongs to me.

1130am: Had lunch at the cafe near Victoria Concert Hall. I had black pepper pork and Darling had chicken cutlet. I still prefer my Teriyaki Pork. But it's only available every Tues and Thurs. So too bad Darling did not get to taste the Teriyaki Pork.

Headed back to the hotel and enjoyed the air con and played PSP throughout till 3pm. Checked out and right now, we are back home. Not sure if Darling actually enjoyed himself but I did though. Anyway, later we are going with his parents to No Signboard for dinner. It's gonna be the first time I will be going there. Hope the food will turn out nice and delicious!

It has been so long since I blogged. My blog has spider webs already but anyway, no one reads so it's ok. Since I have been back from Japan, I have been totally drained out, monetary terms as well as physical and mental terms. As many would have known by now, I am in the midst of preparing for a major renovation of my house. As such, everyday after work, my routine is to go home and pack my things. Renovation is due to start probably next week or the week after next. Also, workload has been getting too much for me to take that I start to work overtime. I have been asking for perfection in my work, thus, with the increase in volume, I naturally took much more time.

Another shocking thing is that one of the clericals in my dept is transferring out and one officer is resigning. I had a peep at how our job functions would change. Realized that they would be bringing in a new officer and they would not be bringing in an additional clerk. Poor clerks have to share out the workload from the one who is transferring out. And for me, I am taking much of the officer's job (the one who is leaving). And some of my easier reports will be transferred to the new officer who is coming in. And when I say easy, it is really chicken feet. It just takes less than 10 mins for the task to be done. Soon, when the new officer goes home at 630pm, she will have to be faced with all the pressure that I am facing. Things like you can't go home sharp, but I am not asking you to work Overtime. WTF, any amt of time after 630pm is overtime! God dammn it! They really ought to check the dictionary man!

Anyway, with this colleague leaving and me taking over most of her job functions, I am a step nearer to promotion. Yes, I am going to work doubly hard and produce results for my bosses to see so that I can ask for a promotion at the end of this year. And of course, the fatter bonus!!! Alright, it's getting lengthy...

Till the next update!
