Had an impromptu BBQ on Saturday! Was out meeting girlfriend, JY, on Tuesday for dinner. Decided to call her and her boyfriend along. :) I was glad she did not turn me down! The dinner with girlfriend was fantastic! Talked about her busy part time 'school life' and her full time 'work life'. I talked to her about my ROM and wedding preparations, showed her some photos of the ballroom etc. And showed her the main timeline. Sought her opinion on certain issues. And girlfriend, if you are reading this, I just want to say Thank you! for always being there to provide your views. :) Love ya lots!
The BBQ over the weekend was fun although it was only 4 of us. Well, intention was just Darling and me! Haha...
Darl setting up the fire while waiting for them to come...
While he was busy, I too was busy - taking photos of myself...
The BBQ started... 3 chefs of the day!

Well, the BBQ ended at about 830pm, early right? It was just a simple dinner la. Sat there, chilled a while and talked. Glad that JH also joined in our conversations. Very good, like this next time we can go out together more often i.e. if I am free la, I am forever busy! Last time, I never ever had topics to talk to her boyfriend about. Haha... Well, the night ended early and we went out separate ways. I hope both of them enjoyed the BBQ dinner as much as we enjoyed it!
Today!!!
Went to Vivo to catch The Forbidden City at GV Max. It was our first time catching a flick in GV Max. Great experience cos' it was not crowded and I was taking 2 seats to myself. Putting my legs on the chair, wow! Shiok!
Had lunch at Food Republic. The Laksa I had was expensive but really yummy! After the movie, we decided to chill a bit in Haagen Dazs so that we can utilise our $10 voucher which I won from answering a survey.
Me... looking so sleepy. I was drowsy the entire day, I don't know why also.
Kind of like the blurry background of this photo...
The Waffle Dream we had! Yummy Summer Berries and Rum & Raisin!
After this, we headed to Arab Street to get my Swaroski Crystals. Done for the agenda of the day and off we went home~
Well, my iphone is on the way back from the US! Woooohoooooooooooooooo...... Short week with a new toy! Totally FUntasTic!

Been sometime since I posted some photos... Shall do less talking for this entry. Let the photos talk:
Sometime back...
Went to Jalan Kayu's prata shop in the middle of the night. I was actually sleeping already, but awoken by a phone call. And I suddenly had craving for prate thus, I asked Darling if he wants to go and have some prate with me. There we are!!!
I had Teh Tarik and Darling has Teh Alia (if it's the correct spelling). Yummy!!
Our prata - we had mushroom, egg and plain! Yummy Yummy Yummy!!!
Him - looking sleepy.. look at his small eyes!
Me - with very small eyes and messy hair!
Next morning, Darling made 2 sets of breakfast for me. One was meant for breakfast, the other was meant for tea break!
Look at this! So CUTE!!! Thanks Darling, it's lovely! You made my day...
In the last post, I mentioned I was at this Island Cafe in TangsOrchard. And I promised photos. Here you go...
Me: I love the scenery outside... Just like a Garden.
Him: Loves the scenery and atmosphere here. We shall come again!
Me: Preparing myself before I eat, I dont want to dirty myself!!!
The Laksa I had...
The Indonesian Fried Rice he had... Boy, we miss the one in Corus Hotel, KL.
The latte I had... cannot be compared to Starbucks and Coffee Bean.
The cold Longan Tea he had - which was slightly bitter, thus, not up to expectations. Overall, dining there was a pleasant experience and we see ourselves going back there again...
Busy busy busy..... busy with work, ROM preparations, wedding preparations etc.

The weekend that has just past is way too short!
Decided not to help my parents on Saturday as I really had some errands to run, yes you guessed correctly, running errands for my wedding. I love planning for my wedding but executing the plans made sometimes cause a big headache, especially for busy people like me. I have almost no time to spare on weekdays cos' I am just dead tired after work and meeting Darling will be like almost 8pm if he finishes at 630pm.
Last weekend's agenda was to go get my pair of heels for photoshoot, which is a major headache. Walking into common stores such as Charles and Keith, URS, DMK, Noda etc. will not get me what I want. The weekend before this, I took a short walk in BHG Bugis which I remembered seeing some really beautiful shoes while shopping for my DND shoes back then. Well, no shoes managed to catch my attention in BHG. Thus, the weekend's agenda...
After Darling finishes work, we had lunch and headed to town. First stop was Wisma-Isetan. Walked around, managed to shortlist one pair of heels. Before entering Takashimaya's departmental store, shortlisted another pair. And upon entering the store, shortlisted another few more pairs. Darling and I both fell in love with this pair that costs $388. This one of their bridal picks. So expensive but really super pretty and elegant! Well, decided to walk around further, to Tangs, to Isetan etc. before making a decision.
Before heading to other departmental stores, we went to take a look at Darling's shoes. He tried a few pairs and shortlisted one. Whilst heading out of the departmental store, I saw a polo tee that's quite nice. Asked Darling to try and we bought it! Received a SMS saying that there's a 10% off at TangsOrchard for selected labels, thus, headed there to check out further.
Looked at their STUDIO collection, not very much to my liking. Headed to Tang+Co, love their heels there. Was looking at 3 pairs, 2 of which are of the same design, just different colours. In the end I bought 2 pairs of different designs la, not cheap leh, cant get all 3 pairs. Happily walked out of the store cos' I had a 10% discount and a 10% rebate. That's like 20% discount!
Headed towards the men's section to look for Darling's shoes. He tried on 2 pairs from Hush Puppies and decided on one. However, that was the last pair, thus, we asked the staff to check if there's another pair at the other Tangs in Singapore. Luckily, there was one and the staff will get it transferred to Orchard and we will pick it up from there.
Agenda completed at about 5pm. So happy! BUT nowhere to head next. Yucks! I thought we would spend the entire day trying to find shoes we like and suitable for the photoshoot. Headed to Island Cafe in Tangs, and had an early dinner there. I had latte and Laksa, Darling has Indonesian Fried Rice and Longan Tea. Spend about an hour there resting our tired feet. I love the ambience there, will go back to chill again. Very nice and quiet place to chill and relax yourselves. I have some photos but it's not with me now, will upload again when I get hold of it. :)
After thinking for some time as to where to head next, we decided to head to Heeren. We remembered there was a beads shop there and we wanted to check out if they sell diamante or rhinestone jewellery. Upon reaching there, we can't find the shop anymore and deciphered that it has most probably moved elsewhere. Whilst walking out of Heeren to catch a bus to City Hall (our next stop), we saw the beads shop advertisement there and said there they have moved to Shaw Tower. Diao! We just came from that side. Being the lazy us, we decided not to walk back there.
We went on to take a bus to Raffles City. Our aim of going there is to find a box, wrapper and ribbons suitable for me to DIY it into an Angpow Box, for containing AngPows on our big day at the reception area. Went to J.Co to buy Darling's favourite Donuts! Afterwhich, went to Prints (our favourite shop). The colour Darling likes comes with design and we only like the plain one. After some time, we decided not to buy and walked out of the store. Then we saw another suitable box at another shop but it costs us $18. Way too expensive, however, the inlet for people to drop their AngPows have been cut out properly already. In the end we did not get any, because I am still thinking of how to get this thing done cheaply. Probably, for ROM, I might not even need the Ang Pow box because the no. of guests are minimal. Still able to keep all gifts into the pockets! Well... let me think about it.
Chilled for about an hour in Starbucks as our feet are complaining. Had our favourite Java Chip Frap. Afterwhich, decided to take a look at the wedding bands in Love & Co. Indeed, I must admit that they have all sorts of designs and patterns which we see at different jewellery stores. However, I must also comment that it's much more expensive and thus, not so worth it. Of course, all these are my personal opinions. Darling and I walked out of the shop, did not fancy anything.
Headed to food court to have dinner. I had my favourite Korean BBQ Chicken. Yummy! Darling said I was smiling throughout dinner and he asked me what was it that make me so happy. I told him... It's purely because I am enjoying the food. Then we took 502 home... It's a long bus journey but we always love such long journeys cos' we talk alot during these journeys. Really ended this day with a happy note!!!
20th April (Sun)
This marks our 9 years 3 months anniversary as well as marks 1 year anniversary of his proposal. This time last year, we were in Hokkaido, enjoying our Japanese cuisine, the cold weather, the scenery and the hot springs. He proposed to me in the hot spring. So shy! He used the ring he was wearing to ask if I would marry him cos' he did not bring the proposal ring to the hot spring. Somehow I knew he will pop the question on this day, however, I did not know exactly what time and how he will do it. Well, it's indeed a very nice place to remember. Tho' no flowers, no kneeling down, no proposal ring at that time, it's still a memorable moment.
Early the morning, I helped out at my mum's stall. Then head home and headed to the pool! It's been ages since I jumped into the pool. The pool was crowded on that day, with families in each corner of the pool. I was telling Darling next time we must bring our kids for swimming too. *Mother's instinct coming up, real strong!* After swimming, we went for a quick bite at Subway. Following which, I went for my manicure and pedicure and Darling tried his first time with the manicure. I am happy to do some maintenance for myself. After that, went home and got ready for blue Monday :(
This weekend, I will have to work no matter what. This is because my bro is attending his flying club graduation ceremony with my parents. Thus, I need to be at the stall with my youngest bro to mann it till my parents come back.
Look forward to another relaxing weekend...

But... There's nothing to be excited about. I have never ever been excited about weekends anyway.
Today, IT Helpdesk sent someone over to check my colleague's PC as she has complained of a fault. I saw the guy and quickly ask him to help me with mine as well. There was always an error message when I open Excel and close Excel. There's also another error message when I use any application, only pertaining to my division.
The guy took about an hour to resolve all my problems. I believed he reformatted the computer as all my settings were gone! Argh! I spent so much time to do up nice pink colors for the windows. Eeks... Gotta re-do them tomorrow... Or when only I have free time.
While the guy was meddling with my PC, I decided to take some pictures of my place...
This is my place. The IT guy is trying to figure out the problem I guess, if you can tell from his body language.
See the chair at the right hand side, just in front of the cupboards? This is where my boss sits. Hee... she obviously can see what I do everyday!!!
This is what's behind me. The printers and some chairs (these chairs are on loan, will be returned soon). Behind the printers are 3 big panes of windows. See! I had to put down the blinds as it is way too bright and my monitor has been reflecting all the sunlight which is too hurting on the eyes.
This is a scene I see when I look out of the window pane...
This is also what I can see.
Don't envy me... Tho I know it's really pretty. Walking slightly away from my desk, I would be able to see the Singapore Flyer. Hee. When I have the chance, I will take a pic for all to see again...
Saturday's gonna be a shopping day again. Hopefully, it's a shopping day and NOT a window-shopping day. I hope I get to buy what I want this time round. I really hope I can find something suitable for me. And best of all, I look forward to seeing Xin on Tuesday!!! Xin, wo hao xiang ni wor. I guess, you don't even have the time to read this ba... It's ok, I will tell you on Tuesday!!!

This weekend was indeed a fruitful one, though a very tiring one. I am so deprived of sleep now. And Yes! I am still blogging. Just want to keep some memories down here...
Sat 12 Apr 2008Woke up in the morning at about 6am, went to help out at my mum's stall till about 12pm. Went home, had lunch and quickly rushed out to meet Darling at Marriott. Purpose of going there: view the wedding workshop conducted by them. Objective: to place deposit for my wedding banquet dinner.
Upon reaching there, saw Darling on the comfy big arm chair again. It's his favourite chair there, everytime without fail, he will wait for me at the usual place in Marriott. It seems to have become our routine as we have been there for like 5 times? When I reached the place, it was about 2pm, headed up to the Grand Ballroom where the wedding workshop is held. Not too many people, or rather not as many as I have expected. I thought it would be packed!
Registered ourselves. Finally got to see Alison (one of the coordinators), we usually go to her when we can't get a reply from Annabel (our coordinator). Surprisingly, she's a pretty young lady. In my mind, I have pictured her to be those very experienced, and by experienced I mean AGE as well. Pretty surprised she's so young, yet much more efficient than our coordinator.
Went into the ballroom after registration. Saw the 3 themes being laid out there. It's definitely very nice of them to lay out all three. You can really see and choose cos' it's the actual layout, effect and lighting for the very night itself. Also, they have launched a new dinner menu and we are given a choice to choose between 2008's menu or 2009's menu. Very flexible of them.
The best thing of this workshop is we get to try the new menu too. There were butlers serving the new menu in the form of canapes. Darling and I finally knew what are canapes. Hee. Fell in love with the prawn stuck into a tomato and the roast pork! Absolutely no fat and indeed crispy! Yummy!!!
We also had a spread of desserts such as mango pudding, cakes, pastries. I love the eclairs and the best of all, I took something that looked like Almond Jelly with Longans. However, upon Darling's first mouth, he told me it's Dao Huay, not Almond Jelly. OMG! Fantastic mix! Yummy!
After which, we paid our deposit and left the place. During our time there, we were 'pestered' by this lady for us to take the MCYS Compatibility Test. Darling was telling me 'what if we realise we are not compatible?' Diao! Then we no need to book the dinner lo! Anyway, after which we left trying to go shopping to find heels for myself as well as black shoes for Darling.
Our shopping spree at Bugis was to no avail. We did not manage to get what we want and we left after our early dinner at Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao. I must comment that the food there is not exactly delicious. Could not match the standards of other outlets e.g. Toa Payoh and also, the service there is lousy to the core! Waitresses are rude! Managers are more rude! Bad bad experience! I will not want to visit them at this outlet ever again! (in my opinion, it may not apply to all out there.)
After that, went home and being the tired and pig me, I fell asleep on Darling's bed. Wanted to wake up at 9+ to head back home. Darling tried waking me up several times but he failed. Lastly, when he said 11pm le baby! I jumped up, took the phone, called home and said.... Tell mum I am not going home. Hee.
Today 13 Apr 2008Mum woke me up by calling me at 715 in the morning. Headed home, picked my bro up and headed to mum's stall. Helped till about 5pm. Came home, bathed and prepared to tutor my bro. My mum asked me to tutor him all the way till his mid year exams, which is 3 weeks away. I had no choice but to try to help him as much as possible.
I have just finished tutoring him and here I am blogging away. In another few more minutes, I am going to prepare dinner for my parents... Yawns... so tired!
A long dued post... I realized I haven't uploaded pictures of what I have given to my colleagues on my last day with them...
Type 1...
Type 2
I personally prefer Type 1... What do you think? Alright... time to go and cook... Ciaoz...

Today's a typical Monday, except that I headed to Tampines instead of the usual Raffles Place. I have grown accustomed to reaching Tampines at about 840am, sit in the Mac, enjoy the $2 Sausage Mcmuffin with a cup of Hot Tea and walk towards the office at 855am. Tomorrow's the last day I am going to do this, and I have a feeling I will miss such days. These days there are no dreads to go to walk. Everyday is so relaxing as all you need to do is to open your ears big to listen to what the trainer has to say. Occasionally take some notes and answer some questions. This is what is basically expected of me for the past 2 weeks. The happy thing is that there are no Monday blues! As I have said, no stress over the past 2 weeks. Life starts to seem a bit too comfortable that sometimes I question what I have been doing.
Today's big rock is to attend the training lesson punctually. Yes, big rock represents something important and urgent which you have to complete in the day. This was learnt in the 7 Habits training lesson and I am supposed to apply it on a daily and weekly basis. The second big rock of the day was to catch a movie with Darling.
As my close ones will know, I seldom have the time to go out and enjoy myself thoroughly without having to care about anything else, even if the sky falls down. And definitely they will know I am not a movie person. Well, since I have owed Darling a movie very long time ago, we decided to utilize his free Cathay tickets tonight.
We caught Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon featuring Andy Lau, Jet Li and Maggi Q.
In the first place before I even decided to watch this, I kept checking with Darling if this movie is boring, if I would fall asleep. In my perspective, Three Kingdoms is something which will definitely not attract me and it has been a sleepy topic for me. I know nuts about it! Yes! I have not even read the book. Finally, while queueing to get the tickets, I decided to catch this flick as it allows me time to have dinner before I watch the movie.
And now I want to tell you that I never regret watching this. It was really exciting since the beginning of the show. I have this thought coming to my mind: When will the movie end? You know sometimes when you watch some movies, you will definitely question yourself when will the movie end cos' simply you are already not very interested in the plot or it has got too draggy that your attention has diverted. I really love the movie, especially towards the end, it got so sad and touching that I dropped tears and started crying. Yes, the girl beside me was crying too so it isn't just my problem. It's really touching.
Thus, I highly recommend this flick to you people out there. Very very nice show! Thumbs up!
Tomorrow's big rock: Attend training punctually...

Last Friday marks the end of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People core training program. It's a compulsory training program for all employees. I must say that these 3 days were really relaxing. Most of the time, we were either doing group work, playing group games or playing games as an entire class. I must say that this is a really fun training program to attend, at least you don't get information overloading for once!
End of the 3 days meaning the start of a 7-weeks contract. Together with the participant's manual given to us, there was a 7-weeks contract. What this contract wants us to do is to follow what's written on the contract and do as per what is stated. They are all very easy stuff to accomplish, however, frequently, everyone uses the "No Time" as an excuse. Well, I guess I am once of those who will use this excuse as well, however, I am going to try to complete this 7-weeks contract. Darling is puzzled what will this help to achieve. According to the trainer, it is supposed to help you practise to use the 7 habits which you have learnt. Habits takes time to become part of you, and the 7-weeks contract is to help you let it become part of you. However, bad habits are usually very fast to pick up. Hee. Let's see if I can finish this 7-weeks contract.
Once I have completed the 7-weeks contract, I will be given a nice name card holder. This shall be my motivation to complete the contract. I hope I can perservere throughout! Wish me luck please!
Apart from this, there's also another challenge posed to us, that is to read Stephen Covey's book - 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Upon finishing reading the book, we have to write a 2-page summary of what we have done to practise the habits. Upon completion of these 2, we will receive a goose and a golden egg. Why a goose and a golden egg? Well, in one of the lessons, we have learnt that the goose is a production capability, and the golden egg is the product. This means that the goose lays the golden egg. The golden egg is the goals and targets I would like to achieve and the goose represents what you have used to achieve the goals and targets. This will be the second motivation. :)
Today, Darling and I were at Toa Payoh. Walked up to the Popular looking for card holder, and thought I would like to check out the price of the book as well. Saw that it was well affordable and decided to get it. Darling and myself have doubts on whether I will complete the book. Well, I said, at least I am going to try. If I never ever got the book, I will never ever know whether I will complete it.
Then we went for Dinner and sat at Coffee Bean to chill for a while. Sat there and chilled for about an hour. I attempted to read a few pages of the book and my eyes got smaller and smaller. I told Darling that the words were so small to read! Darling closed my book and started to talk to me. Hehe. We chatted about anything, sometimes though words are few, it's the presence that counts!
Took some pictures and personally prefer this one. Yes! I look very tired after one long day at my mum's stall. Haha. Isn't this always how I look after I help out at my mum's stall? Get used to it ba....
After that, headed home. Gotta get ready for 2 more days of training and finally on Wed, I will be back in office, hopefully doing some things which I call work. Felt that I have been taking salary for nothing for the past 3 weeks already. This is the fourth week and I hope after this week, I will be right on track, doing work.
Alright! Till the next update. Busy busy week ahead!

Just finished the subject mentioned series.
Highly recommended by me! I love the way the series goes... Not too slow, not too fast, yet with the 'touch' factor!
Love it to the core! And Xiao Mei is so Shuai! (personal perspective) And Hebe is so pretty! (personal perspective)
Anyway, today I have attended part 1 of 3 of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. This course is a compulsory course for all staff. It has been very enriching for Part 1. It makes me change my paradigm i.e. the way I see things. And I know I have procrastinated a lot in the past. I think after this course, I will really sit down, re-look and re-organise my life. I hope I can adhere to what I have decided then. Too many committments, too little time.
I am looking forward to part 2 and 3 of the course. Will update more on it again. Ciaoz.
