Made a 3 days 2 nights trip to Bangkok. Yep, it's not like I haven't been there, since I have stationed there for 2.75 months! I was back there to collect my luggage. Originally, I was scheduled to fly on 23 Nov and return on 6 Dec. However, due to costs cutting and other changes in plans, I will station in Singapore instead. This was a last minute notice and I still have a luggage there, thinking I would be back for another 2 weeks.
Thus, made it back to BKK for a short getaway. Was with my parents but we took different flights as mine was pre-booked quite early. My parents left early in the morning and reached BKK at about 10+ and they headed straight to Chatuchak!
I took the afternoon (1245pm) flight all on my own (it's not the first time lah!)...
The sky was really beautiful and thus, I decided to snap some pictures! Check them out!
Reached hotel at about 3+pm. Mum and dad are still not back from Chatuchak! Thus, I checked in first to rest.
Welcome pack from the hotel~
Did the usual shoppings, and not forgetting to pray the four-faced Buddha. Took some photos of the Christmas decorations in Central World.
A band playing Jazzy music.
Choo Choo Train~
This is a really cute Snowman!
Little Santa Claus! Took this while mum was shopping. Teeheehee.
Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell!!!
Big Xmas Tree!
Just before we left the hotel, the hotel staff told us it was the wrong time for us to leave BKK as there is a mob in the airport. My mum was like 'huh? Got bomb?' I was laughing lo. Hotel staff told us it would take 1.5 hours (usually 45 mins) to reach the airport. We started to panic as we could possibly miss our flight.
The usual route to Departure/Arrival Hall was closed due to the protestors. Taxi driver was smart to take another route. However, the jams were bad. Our flight was at 7.05pm, and we only arrived at the airport 6.05pm. Walked briskly to the check-in counters, and briskly to the immigration and then to the plane. It was the first time we panicked for we could miss our flight anytime.
We saw many people running, scrambling around as most of them were late for their flights! I must say we were really lucky to have caught our flight! 2 hours later, the airport was declared closed! Till today, it's still closed... My heart goes out to all those who are stuck in the airport. May this 'crisis' be over soon as some of my colleagues are still there, and some are scheduled to fly this weekend or the next.
How long has it been since we met on weekends? I am always the one who could not meet them on weekends as I have commitments at my parents' stall.
So happy to be able to meet them on Sat afternoon for hi-tea at Lao Beijing! Weet!!!
PP & JY~
Qi & Me! Goodness, both of us look ugly~ After 2.75 months of zero facial, my face has no glow!!! I look so tired with my small eyes~
No idea why she's so happy~
Anyway, the hi-tea get together is a great idea! Looking forward to this Sat's BBQ with them again~ Woohoo!!! Sat quick come!!! Oh, and Qiqi passed me my birthday pressie. It's not her fault that she only passed it to me now, it's because I am not in Singapore!!!
The package is just so sweet! I love it to bits!!! Thanks QiQi!!!
Let's take a look at what's in the package~
This note is all that mattered! The well wishes. Yep, frenz forever! Come to think of it, we knew of each other's existence in 1997 (Sec 1). Only became close friends in Sec 3. Following which, have been really good friends till now. 11 years & still going strong! I love you gals!
Yes! I AM A LADY DRIVER & PROUD TO BE ONE!
Used to be a princess. Now married, they say not princess anymore :( I don't care! I am the princess, that's why!!!
Thus, the back... Queen!!!
Guess what's in it?!
Ta-dah! So kawaii ne!!!
This is Magic Light. The light keeps changing color when it is switched on. Extra batteries for me too. Cute~
After hi-tea, Qi, JY and me headed to Far East Plaza to shop for their dresses for my actual wedding day. After which, I collected my wedding invitation cards and dropped them off at Jurong Point before meeting my parents for dinner!
See you girlies this Saturday!!!

4 Nov 08 marks our one month wedding anniversary.
On this day, I am still situated and working in Bangkok, thus there were not any form of celebration, just wishing each other a happy anniversary and may we have many more to come! I insisted on receiving a present from my hubby! And he readily agreed and said will prepare it for me so I get it the first thing I am back!
On 8 Nov, I touched down in budget terminal and was well received by hubby and this one month wedding anniversary present! He was waiting to pick me up with this:
All purple!!! My favourite!!! And this is also our ROM colour theme! Lovely! Thanks, honey!!!
Close up of the lovely purple rose. There are 6 roses. I asked him what does it mean. He says 'I Love You Very Very Much!' Haha... no lah, he thought of this on the spot. There were not any specific meaning but he's so sweet to have thought of this answer.
This little bear is costly!!! He says he loves this bear cos of the furry furry cap. Haha, so he got it! :)
Did not manage to take any photos at the airport cos' I had too many luggage with me. Haha. Well, coming back from Bangkok after 2.5 months, you can expect the loads of luggage I had!
Hubby took this for me when we got home. Look! I am still perspiring! Singapore's weather is too hot! I wanna go back to BKK!!! Oh and you saw the pink ribbons? Very sweet pink! I like!
Asked my brother to take this shot for us, for memory keepsake. Thanks hubby! Sorry that I don't have anything for you. Hee~
The rose still looks lovely after 3 days!!! And it's full bloom. This picture is slightly dark due to the lighting in my room.
Just a little check on the bear and the bouquet! Still looks very lovely!!!
That's about it for our 1st month wedding anniversary! Did not go for any dinner together or any other celebration, as we ought to be saving for our banquet and flat. Nevertheless, I am contented with this surprise! Thanks, hubby for being so sweet~

7 more days to home for 2 weeks and back to BKK! I am so gonna miss this place - the food, the lifestyle, the place, the apartment, the people and everything!
Anyway, mummy and daddy came over on 20 Oct night. Picked them up from the airport as many taxi drivers do not really know where the apartment is.
2nd day - brought daddy and mummy downstairs to take a look at the roadside stalls, and they bought some breakfast for themselves. Made an appointment for them to go for aromatheraphy massage just opposite the apartment. After which, met them for lunch. Brought them on a song thel and headed to soi Saint Louis for stewed pork.
Daddy loves the stewed pork with rice, even 'Halal' mummy likes it too. After lunch, we walked along the street and bought some snacks. After which bought them the nice Iced Latte which costs only about SGD1.10. Cheap and good! I hopped on a Song Thel to go back to work and they got onto a cab to MBK.
After work, met them at MBK and went to Chinatown for dinner. Introduced dad to their Ice Lemon Tea and both daddy & mummy loves it!
3rd day - the morning routine fairly remains the same. Lunch was at the stewed pork place again. Yes! That's how much daddy loves it! Brought them to a market (Lalaisap) that sells clothes as well as food. Left them there to shop on their own and told them after they finished shopping here, to hop on a cab to Platinum Mall. I cabbed back to office.
Met them at Platinum Mall after work and went to Central World for Lee Cafe (the tom yum soup is to die for) and brought them to Sizzler (Wednesday night special THB199). Headed back to the apartment to rest after that.
4th day - I was on home leave. Went for a massage with them early in the morning. We then headed to 'Hongkong Noodle' (the restaurant's name which is located opposite Siam Paragon) for brunch. Daddy loves the Fish Maw soup and had 2 bowls for himself, as well as a plate roasted duck drum with rice. Mummy and I had their jumbo wantan mee with duck meat, char siew and crab meat. Then, we walked to pray Si Mian Fo, just opposite Central World. It was a long walk, lucky daddy and mummy did not complain. After the prayers, we headed to comb the streets opposite Central World and then to Platinum Mall. This time round, we wanted to get car accessories - the head gear, seat cover, steering wheel cover etc. as well as imitation Birkenstock slippers. Late lunch was at Yayoi which serves cheap and good Japanese food, and back to Lee Cafe for Tom Yum soup and Mango with Sticky Rice. After which, cabbed to MBK cos' they wanted to buy dried goodies back.
Managed to MTM mum's evening gown for my wedding dinner at the same place I did my ROM short gown. Without us knowing, it was almost time for dinner. Dad didn't know what to eat, so he said he wanted to eat at Sizzler's again. So we cabbed back to Central World for Sizzler. After dinner, we went back to the apartment to rest our tired feet. And to wait for hubby's arrival!
5th day - As per every morning, daddy and mummy went for their massage, as it's their last day here in BKK. Darling & I waited for their return and we brought darling for the stewed pork rice. Daddy wanted to buy the fried pork back to SG, but they were sold out already. Oww... too bad! But he kept reminding me to buy it back for him when I go back to SG. After lunch, cabbed to MBK again. Mummy has not gotten her jeans. Went there and shopped for about 2 hrs, and headed to 'Hongkong noodle' for daddy's favourite fish maw soup! Lastly, cabbed back to apartment to get ready to send them to the airport.
Darling and I sent them to the airport and we cabbed back to the apartment as he wanted me to cook dinner for him. Alrighty! First meal I cook for him as his wife! Passed! Haha... He won't dare to say fail la, else next time I won't cook for him le. Rested early as we both were tired. We slept on the floor the night before and thus, both of us did not sleep well.
6th day - after breakfast, we headed out... Shopped a bit. Lunch at Yayoi, rested our feet.
Mr & Mrs Lim...
Outside Yayoi~
Hubby with his tall glass of Pepsi!
I didn't order a drink but I also wanted to post with this tall glass!
My new favourite - Pork Sukiyaki~
The ever-loving hubby~
Chilled a bit at Coffee Beans by Dao... We were there for 2 hours plus I think. Tired from all the walking...
Queued for 1.5hrs to enter this restaurant - Shabushi - they serve steamboat with ingredients on conveyor belt. It's a buffet and it cost only about $10 per pax. However, each person is only entitled to 1 hr 15mins to eat.
Finally got in... Famished!
7th day - Sunday!
It was R&R day... we did not go out. But hubby still woke up very early. Think he's not used to sleeping here. Then we took a nap again at about 11am. I woke up at 1pm and whipped up a lunch for him. He was so touched!
Our very sumptuous lunch!
Later in the evening, we were supposed to go for dinner on cruise which was booked earlier. The person picked us up from our apartment at 6pm. Reached quite early, registered, paid and walked around. They had an art exhibition going on:
One of my favourite painting!
Another of my favourite!
Time to board the cruise!
The night view of the Chao Phraya River!
The cruise we were about to board.
Hubby on the cruise...
Me sipping the welcome cocktail~
Taken while cruising along the river...
Another shot!
Darling bought this for 200baht. A momento for us. It's a tourist-y thingy. But this is like our mini honeymoon! Hee... Well, that's all for now!!!
