♥ Part & Parcel of my Life ♥
Thursday, June 18, 2009

Together with my parents, we went for hubby's birthday lunch @ Global Kitchen, Pan Pacific Marina. The ambience is very high class and I quite like the dining experience.

The table set up...

Part of the restaurant...

Food...

More food...

The seafood counter which I thought wasn't really impressive.

The fruits counter... look kinda pathetic isn't it?

Whole fruits - quite uniquely displayed...

DIY noodles counter...

My DIY-ed bowl of noodles. Looks yummy eh?

The ham counter... beside it is the salad counter.

Some of the food I tried. the best was the sweet & sour prawns! the prawns are so damn good!

Their cakes are laid out pretty uniquely!

The spread of cakes is actually quite wide. :) And the cakes are yummy too!

More selections :)

Guess what this is! Tea selection... It's really a good place for tea and chill. They have so many types of tea. All you need to do it to dispense and put hot water in!

You just have to turn the swivel once... and the tea leaves will drop into the white container. You pour the tea leaves into the tea pot provided and add in hot water and you are done!

To decide which type of tea you would like, they have some sample and explanation here for you. You can smell the sample or if you dare, taste the tea leaves. Hehe...

Lastly, it's hubby's birthday! Got him a 'cake'. He requested for my aunt's Apple Crumble and ta-dah!

Yummy, yum yum!

Mummy took this pic! I am so proud of her~ Hee...

After lunch, we headed back home to prepare ourselves to take our flight to Bali!!!

As mentioned in my earlier post, our Honeymoon package includes a romantic dinner for 2. This is by far the most romantic dinner I had with my hubby. It feels totally like you have booked the entire restaurant, with personal waiter/waitresses to attend to you. I guess what it lacks was a personal band playing your favourite songs beside you. You know those accapella type? Hee... alrighty! at 6+pm, checked out the decor. We wanted to have our romantic dinner by the pool so we won't be disturbed by others...

Opened the door and I saw all the flower petals on the floor. Sweet!

Now see the setup? As though I am getting married once again!

The heart shaped flower petals arrangement on the floor... sweet!

The table arrangement...

First time dining with so many forks, spoons and knives. Haha...

2 floral stands by the pool... Around the pool was decorated with flower petals and candles as well. Romance on the way!

I look really sleepy as I didn't have much sleep due to dolphin watching...

Me with the complimentary bouquet from the resort...

We wanted the dinner to start at 7pm... however, we only started close to 8pm due to some misunderstanding and miscommunication. We were waiting for the waiter to knock on our door to tell us that they are ready. They were waiting for us to come out to start the dinner. Diao right!!!

The sky was really dark when we started our dinner. Check out the pool side litted with candles!

Beautiful, right?

First dish - Avocado salad with prawns! I love the prawns! They are simply just so sweet!

Mushroom Cappucino Soup.. that stick tasted just like Roti Prata. Yummy!

Main course - Lobster with Spaghetti. This dish is fabulous!!! I am still drooling over it... 1.5 lobsters each!!!

The aftermath. Hehe. They even provided hand washing water for you. So nice of them!

Dessert - Heart Shaped Tiramisu with strawberry ice cream. Yummy!!!

Coffee/Tea to end off everything.

The both of us, very satisfied with the entire arrangement and the dinner. It would be fabulous to end it off with a dip in the pool, cuddling each other, savouring wine at the same time, followed by a bubble bath together and some love making... Aww... I wanna go again!!!

Pulled ourselves out of bed at 1.30am as the driver would be picking us up at 2am. It's so tough to wake up especially when we slept like 11pm. Washed up and waited for him in the lobby.

Started our 5-hours drive to the North of Bali, Lovina. The journey was a torturing one. This is because the driver slept as little as us, and I am so afraid he will fall asleep while driving. Thus, I didn't dare to fall asleep, whereas hubby was snoozing away... We had to drive on mountain paths to get there. This part was really scary, anytime you lose control of the car, you will just fall right down to I-dont-know-where. Close to 6+am, hubby woke up and I asked him to watch the roads for the driver while I take a quick nap.

Reached the beach at about 7+am cos' the driver sort of lost his way. And we went to relieve ourselves after 5 - 6 hours! Saw the boat we are taking and I kind of freaked out! I thought it would be some big boat where it can contain say 10+ pax. But this one could only take 4 pax, and it's like a motored-sampan. Almost wanted to back out but I thought I wouldn't want to waste the journey here. Without life vests, both of us board the sampan... out we drove many kilometres into the big sea, waiting for the dolphins. To our surprise, there were so many boats out in the sea already!

Lovely...

I was sitting behind hubby, so I took pictures of his backview.

More scenery shots:

Now, catch the dolphins!

I took a lot more videos than photos! Thus, this is just a few glimpses of the beautiful dolphins. It's a pity they wouldn't swim near your boat, I guess for them to come near you, you got to feed them :) Hubby says he will bring me to the Australia one next time!

The water's quite clear nearer to the beach. This was taken on our way back to the shore after about 45 mins out in the sea.

The shore... where we first board the boat and where we will alight...

After which, we headed to Kintamani - where we can see Mount Batur and Lake Batur. It's another scenery spot. We like!

This is Mount Batur, a volcano that is still active, I think...

Lake Batur... Picturesque.

Taken from some restaurant. :) We didn't eat there, just went in for photos! Hee.

It was so windy... had to hold on to my hair. LOL.

A few more scenery shots before we moved on to our next destination.

Our next destination was the rice terraces @ Tegalallang Village. They also have tours for you to trek the rice fields, but trekking was not our cup of tea!

I used to only see these in Geography textbooks. Haha! Now, I see it for myself. A pity the rice have all been harvested. However, along the way, we saw newly planted rice too!

This is how harvested rice looks like... Haha... you never knew, right? Me too!

The rice is contained in these brown streaks.

After that, we moved on to Ubud to try their famous suckling pig. we didn't quite like it though, probably due to the sourish/spicy sauce they put on it. The meat was ok though.

This is the Babi Guling we had.

Took some photos around Ubud and visited the Ubud market, but things were not to our liking, thus, did not buy anything. Save money!!!

Was waiting for the driver to pick us up and hubby suggested we take some shots for him to use as his handphone wallpaper. And we went snap, snap, and snap! So many photos taken just to shortlist one for his handphone wallpaper. This spells love and fun!

Hubby has transition lens, I have my Bee Eyes!

Transition lens meets Bee eyes! Hehe...

After Ubud, driver suggested to bring us to Cocoa and Coffee Farm. However, we were not interested in such. As such, we decided to call it a day and head back to the resort for a well deserved rest. Back in the hotel, I was feeling hungry as I didn't like the Babi Guling. Hubby decided to order room service for me!

Very yummy Nasi Goreng!

And a quite diluted but still yummy Strawberry Milkshake!

After that, hubby fell asleep first. I was too engrossed in my game and thus, ended up with no time to sleep as our dinner time was approaching! We are having our romantic dinner which was included in our package! :)
