18 Dec 09 - another day that marks lots of eating!

Had lunch with my dearest hubby at Swensens, Bugis. Such a sweet lunch I had!

Happy but sick (down with sore throat and flu) baby...

My main - Chilli Soft Shell Crab pasta! Yummy! My all new favourite pasta in Swensens.

Hubby's Baked Mixed Bolognaise (can't spell this)...

Ocean Crunch Salad...

Prawn Dippers - lunch menu promotion - free side/drink/sundae with every main course ordered.

Banana Split - also free on lunch promotion...

Dinner @ Charcoal Restaurant. Was there to support my youngest brother at his event catering. My aunts and uncle went with us also. This whole set meal cost me $25 nett. Quite worth it I would say. Food is also not too bad for trainee chefs.

Appetizer - prawn with Mango - yummy!

Prawn is quite sweet, but I did not take the olive. Didn't dare to...

Carrot Soup... too sweet for my liking.

Grilled salmon with wholemeal cereal. My aunts say it is nice but a little too salty. The white wine sauce is good! Tasted like butter sauce but after clarification with my brother, this is actually white wine sauce.

Chicken Piccata - this dish is prepared by my youngest bro. The sauce is a little too blend. Chicken is crispy on the outside and quite tender in the inside as it is baked after frying...

Sweet delight - dessert - chocolate cake and ice cream tart.

Ice cream tart... yummy!
The whole group of us :)

Christmas is coming! I am feeling happie cos' it's the holidays again! And the happier I feel, the more I dislike working which resulted in my work piling up... Hurhurhur... This is bad! And I haven't gave a thought on my new year resolution... hmm... *scratch head*

The festive season is here! Shopping malls getting packed! Spending power for everyone seems to have suddenly increase tremendously. Every place has queues, regardless if they are food outlets or retail stores.

Hubby & I joined in the crowds too. Bustling Orchard Road and everywhere else. Been craving for xiao long bao for some time. 17 Dec 09 - drove to Holland Village for Crystal Jade Xiao Long Bao as we were in the area. Upon reaching there at about 8.10pm, the entrance of the restaurant was packed with people. We went to find out how long do we have to wait and was told 1 hour. OMG! Looking at the time, we knew we would be in time to go back to Bishan's Ding Tai Fung - which we wanted to dine 2 days ago but the waiting time was close to 1 hour too and thus, gave it a miss. We kinda estimated that when we reached Bishan, the crowd would have subside.

True enough, when we reached there, it was not as crowded even though we still had to wait about 15 mins for our seats.

Where we had our dinner...

Hungry hubby...

That's me posing for the camera!

One more shot before dinner was served...

My shrimp dumpling noodle soup...

Juicy shrimp dumplings!

Hubby's fried rice with prawns!

Sweet prawns... *yummy*

Xiao Long Bao!!! Still prefer Crystal Jade's after so long...

Never perfect without shredded ginger.

Vegetable Pork Bun.

Totally not to my liking... hehe.

Red date and longan drink *thumbs up*

Our bill...

Went to NTUC for some grocery shopping and then, home sweet home!!!

On leave on 16 December 2009. Happenings of the day:

1) Early in the morning, I went for facial at A*****. Bought 2 $38 vouchers at their 'roadshow' earlier this year. Finally utilize 1 voucher today. Service was good and as I currently do not have any facial packages and I know the urgent need to improve my facial condition (sensitive skin really causes quite a lot of problems), I decided to take up not 1 package, but 2 packages with them. Yes! You may think I am crazy. I took 1 treatment package - for improving skin condition and reducing spots/freckles as well as reduce skin's sensitivity. Another package is really a maintaining facial package. When I decided to take this up, I had darling in mind. I knows he loves facial but due to financial constraints, he has been holding back. As I find it relatively affordable, I took it. Also, the beautician suggested I go for treatment facial, 2 weeks later, followed by maintaining facial and 3 weeks later, treatment facial again. I don't think I have the time to do it, but I am definitely glad if hubby goes for facial with me! =)

2) Went with my parents & grandparents for lunch at Pow Sing Chicken Rice. I really love the chicken there, cos' the chicken breast meat (my favourite!) is the most tender I ever had! Health for my grands is deteriorating, we ought to cherish the time we have with them. After lunch, we headed separate ways. Dad sent grands back home and went to run errands. Mum was with hubby and me. We headed to Orchard for my late Xmas shopping!

3) Arrived in Taka... bought all the stuff according to my shopping list. Headed to ION for my long awaited hair cut (trim). Was happy Tyson was available. He never fail to make me happy with my hair! And he gives good feedback! Important! Right now, looking forward to visiting him just before CNY for a good dye as well as to-cut-short-or-have-more-curls! What do you people think?

I am most pleased with my fringe today... I even told him out of the 3 times, this is the one I liked best!

Taken with my iPhone, pardon the poor quality. My fringe looks better than this actually. Hee...

Mum then headed to meet Dad for a massage. Hubby & I headed to City Hall to get some other pressies! Had Coffee at Gloria Jeans before we headed for home!

Spent a lot of $ today... if only all the things bought were for me! I am really happy to cast away all my work and enjoy a day like this! I pray for more of such days but less spending on such days! =P

Looking forward to more shopping on 21st Dec!!!

Friends who know me knows I hate seaweed to the core! I just couldn't make myself like the smell. However, this is my new found favourite in Sushi Tei!

Dragon Roll! I simply love the mix of prawns, seaweed and avocado! Yummy! Hey friends, I eat seaweed ok?! =P

And without fail, my main course is always Kaisen Kaminabe:

What a wonderful dinner!

On a side note, I have not started my Xmas shopping at all & it is only 15 days away from Xmas! Oh Oh!

Here's wishing my youngest brother a Happy 18th Birthday! May all his birthday wishes come true! On the other hand, hope he gives us less problems/troubles to resolve as the days go by. He has never fail to 'surprise' us with the nasty things he could get himself into e.g. a few days before his 18th birthday, he could get himself into hot soup with the school. School has called to threaten forced withdrawal as he has been absent from school for consecutive 2 weeks. On Thursday, my parents even had to go see his school's management. WTF!
Anyway, had an earlier celebration for him. We had a simple steamboat at home, which my family loves and had a cake cutting session to symbolize his birthday. Some photos:

Really wish from this moment he grows up and starts planning for himself what he wants in life.
Side track a little... A Few days back, hubby & I ran out of places to eat so we went to Serangoon Gardens and walked into a Thai restaurant. It is only once in a blue moon that we will do this. We usually have something in mind and head towards the place. The Thai food served was not too bad, but could have been better. Kinda miss Aroy Thai @ Funan!
This is something like Gong Bao Chicken. Chicken was a bit too tough for my liking. I guess they overdid this!

Pineapple rice that was on promotion. I felt that this could be better. The rice was not really fragrant.Clear Tom Yam soup that was quite nice. However, as we sat under the air con vent, the soup turned cold really quickly.

We wanted Aspargus, however, they said they were not serving this for the day. Thus, we settled for Sambal Kang Kong instead.

Christmas is round the corner! I have not thought of what to get my friends and colleagues yet. Oh Oh! Thinking of what to get me? I'll update my wishlist really soon!

When Christmas is round the corner, it also means we are approaching the end of 2009. The other day I was chatting with hubby on what I have achieved and what I have not. Feeling quite upset about some stuff which I have not achieved. Nevertheless, I should look forward and also start to sit down and think of what I want to achieve in 2010.
